Paths Crossing

Do you believe in fate? That everyone has a place and a purpose whilst on this earth? I do. Funny little things happen, people come into your life for fleeting moments but can leave such a lasting impression. I stumbled upon the work of Audrey Woulard, a Chicago based photographer on Monday. I have NEVER seen work like Audrey's. Her images are a complete dream. I contacted Audrey via email to seek information regarding tuition and included my favourite photo of Lachlan. I never in a million years expected such a heart warming reply from Audrey. I have been completely humbled by Audrey's kind words and encouragement.

Audrey, this post is dedicated to you. I know chances are you will never see it but today you may well have just encouraged me down the path I want to walk with a little more confidence

Thank you so much

My boys gave me this flower on Sunday. D took Lachlan out into the garden and came back with this surprise for me. What perfectly thoughtful men :)

A new baby is on the way

No, not for us but for Peggy! I went to Peggy's baby shower on Sunday and had a lovely day out with my best friends. Peggy and I have been friends since high school. I still can't believe that soon Peg is going to be a mummy too. Peggy looks completely wonderful and I just can't wait to meet baby C.

Reasons

I have always been a firm believer that things always happen for a reason. It's funny how people come into your life completely unexpectedly but as soon as they do, you know that there was a special reason your paths have crossed. Some people just get you and you feel like you have been friends for ever.

Miss J is one of those people. Our friendship started probably through a common interest in photography and because we completely adore our sons. I had so much fun last Thursday taking these photos. This is only one of Miss J's little ones who I call Mini Coops. He's a very special little baby and is sooo cute ta boot :)

J & T's Sweet Peas

These pictures are from a session I did for one of my best friends T. T has two beautiful bubbies and I love, love, love taking their photos. Aren't they sweet peas?

This is my L :)

In the beginning

So, here I am starting a blog. Oh what to say.....

I guess firstly a little about me. I am very blessed. I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful son, both are the absolute loves of my life. I have a wonderful family and a fantastic circle of friends who are more like family than friends.

I have always loved taking photos. I can remember dressing up my little cousin R in dance costumes and taking photos of her using mum and dad’s big clunky black camera when I was only 10 or so. Anne Geddes was my hero & when I grew up, I wanted to be able to take beautiful photos of babies, just like her.

My passion has since been re-ignited since the birth of my son L. I'm very lucky because he quite fancies having his photo taken & is as the sweetest little pumpkin there is. Having L has made me realise how important it is to have photos. Photos are a beautiful way to help cherish memories and capture your child’s innocence as they grow.

We had the best photographer come to our house when L was 5 weeks old and take our first "proper" family photos. I had been dying for this moment as this lady knows how to use a camera. I knew the photos she took for us would be a wonderful keepsake and just couldn't wait to see them. Of course I wasn't dissappointed, D and I were moved to tears when we saw our images for the first time.

I want to be able to do this for people too. I love photography, I love babies & children and I'm in a wonderfully fabulous place right now.
